These free services are provided at locations throughout Orange County, primarily at Senior/Community Centers and at our HICAP office in Irvine. Our HICAP Counselors provide free, unbiased, individualized counseling to help Medicare beneficiaries and individuals reaching Medicare eligibility, understand their benefits and plan options. Orange County’s Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program (HICAP) is looking for qualified candidates to become HICAP Volunteer Counselors. Caring Connections is the only countywide friendly visitor program in Orange County who visits older adults and persons with disabilities. Monthly volunteer trainings are offered to interested individuals who want to make a difference in the life of someone who might otherwise be forgotten. A three-hour friendly visitor training session is offered to volunteers once a month.
